For last week’s DDCA Nick, Shay & I went to the ever popular El Cerrito Foundation Memorial Grove overlooking the East Bay. While we were there we cast a bust of Shay & mounted it on a rusted old fence for posterity’s sake.

We had a flat tire that Shay was able to change. And then his toupee blew off.

To finish off our adventure, Nick & Shay waited in line to be used as a shopping cart at the El Cerrito Trader Joe’s.

This week Shay, Nicholas, Daniel & I adventured to the John Muir Historical site, Muir’s home for much of his life, in Martinez, CA. Mr. Muir was too old to look directly at the camera, but he let us touch him. And each other.

To our surprise, immediately upon walking into the museum, we found out that Shay’s excitement & indiscernible babblings about his long relationship with John Muir were true. Shay’s love for trees & men with beards is no accident, my friends… no sir.

Moments before I snapped this photo, the ghost of John Muir filled this dress & was beckoning for Nick to join him in bed. It was completely insane &, according to Nick’s face, mildly amusing.

I was super bothered by the fact that the forest service workers running a John Muir Historical Site wouldn’t have a clue as to where trash goes when you throw it away. They put these signs up to get answers. So sad.

We took a helicopter tour because the cattle were hard to look at from the side. ¡Que animales!
